Your Path to Greatness, It Starts With a Choice

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
-Robert Frost (The Road Not Taken)

I remember reading this poem by Robert Frost in utter awe as to how relevant it was in my life at the time, and how beautifully it summed up the ultimate question which persistently appeared- To go or not to go? “To be or not to be”? In a thrift store, belly full from the restaurant next door, spiritually hungry for something more, I was again visited by this question, and something in that day told me it was time to say yes, I will go. I purchased the book, as a symbol to remember that divine intervention, and I left the thrift store with a $1.00 book in my hand ready to embark on the priceless journey of a lifetime.

Before I get into it further, I want to briefly introduce myself. I’m a mother to a most beautiful wonderful 5 year old named Aria, the “creme de la creme” for inspiration, and a wife to my wonderful husband Roger who continues to motivate me everyday. I am a full time maker and have been designing and crafting my jewelry line WHIMS OF WANDERLUST for 4 years now. My passions also include succulents, cooking, gemstones, painting, reading, dancing, and indulging in exotic flavors of tea.

I started this blog up because I’m excited to share and inspire others to discover the gems in their lives. From a very young age I’ve been a wide eyed dreamer. Somewhere along the chaos I began to slowly feel myself dying inside, my magic slowly leaving me. It was a depressing time because I knew I was letting it happen. Though my day job wasn’t bad, it also wasn’t fulfilling and the time I didn’t spend with my daughter as a baby was horrible excruciating. I knew I had to find another way of living, though in my core I had always known that. I left my day job as a waitress at the Olive Garden and embarked on an ambitious and fervent pursuit of spiritual freedom (and did it feel GOOD!)

I’m living out my passions full time now and am on my heart’s journey devoted to growing myself and inspiring others to do the same.  I feel compelled to remind people of the magic they have inside themselves so that they can remember their ability to dream, their limitless potential to do so much more than just go day to day in and out of the vicious cycles of life, to explore their minds beyond themselves, and to realize that they are capable of greatness. We are alive! Are we not?! We must come face to face with our true selves and see that we were not just born to pay bills and die. And yes, I do believe that no matter how far along you’ve come this road that the magic is still with you, YES YOU! You matter, and if nobody in your life has told you that then I’m here to tell you. YOU MATTER…

Though this blog will document my personal journey of creating and exploring, on a deeper level it is so much more. It is a spiritual journey, a CELEBRATION OF LIFE THROUGH CREATIVE EXPRESSION. May it be dancing, singing, sharing, caring, listening, traveling, painting, through music, through a hug or a kiss, or simply being, whatever that means to you I want you to embrace it and all the gifts that you carry and share it with love.  I want you my fellow brothers and sisters to have the courage to live the meaningful life you desire.

I used to think that happiness and falling in love with my life was something that would just happen to me one day. I soon realized that happiness is saying yes to “the call”. Happiness is made of small choices made daily and a habit of turning negative thoughts into positives which opens the portals of possibility. I’m going to challenge you to take a step today, to make a choice, to break free from the routine and try something new and uncomfortable towards that life you desire. This is really simple, it doesn’t have to be big. It could simply be taking a walk and finding the time to breathe, uncluttering your space physically, making time for something you enjoy doing, even just taking 5 minutes to sit will make a difference. The point of this is to give yourself some mental room to allow imagination and creativity to thrive. To be fully engaged in the present where the aha! moments exist. It’s okay if you don’t know exactly what the next step is. Sometimes all we need to give ourselves is a place to just BE so we can gain clarity on where we go next.  I encourage you to say yes to yourself and choose to “be” to “go” on that road and begin your greatest adventure.

Thank you for visiting! I’m beyond excited to share our journeys together with you my soul family.

Blessings and all my love….

Oh and here’s the complete poem for you my passionate poets! 😉

The Road Not Taken

By Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
